Spiritual Tours are our specialty.
We love sharing and experiencing what the ancient cultures can tell us. This is done through non-linear forms of communication dependent on context and location: the dream languages; the myths; the legends; the tales; the scriptures and scrolls. During sightseeing you may be immersed in mysterious symbols such as cave drawings, tales, scriptures. We even look at scientific theories and advances found across the globe in different lands. At spiritually significant sites you may also experience meditation or yoga sessions. As well as places and monuments considered iconic in certain countries, we endeavour to take you off the beaten track occasionally to experience places few tourists have been privileged to see. We have found that such experiences have strengthened our fellow-travellers’ bonds with planet Earth and her inhabitants.
Benefits include greater opportunities to take in the sights and sounds, time for yoga, meditation and spiritual experiences, and more accessible photographic opportunities. Some activities involve moderate walking but more strenuous walking may be necessary in hilly areas. You are not obliged to participate in activities requiring strenuous physical exertion.
We stay in a variety of accommodation specifically chosen to provide a more rounded experience than always staying in 5-star western-style hotels. In some places we even treat you to a stay in renovated home palaces where we meet the 5th generation of owners descended from Royalty! In other instances, we may stay at culturally significant heritage accommodation – or even in luxurious Swiss tents. You can be assured that all of the places we stay are comfortable, clean with modern amenities, and safe. Wherever we stay the staff or family-owners are friendly, courteous and love to share their experiences and history. Our guides and escorts are all kind locals who provide support for your travel comfort and enjoyment. Your tour host, Sonette, is an experienced world traveller with many local connections to help make this an experience of a lifetime.
Before departure we advise our tour party about vaccinations and medical needs, as well as appropriate clothes to pack. We recommend suitable dress throughout the tour when visiting any places of worship, mausoleums, etc. We ask that you dispose of any rubbish in appropriate bins (even if that means carrying it with you back to the hotel or lodgings).
As responsible citizens of this planet we encourage animals to live freely in their own natural habitat and therefore discourage such activities as elephant rides – yet we may include wildlife safaris or animal sanctuary visits as part of our tours to observe the animals in ways that do not interfere with them.
